I’d love to introduce you to The Library of Rivendell, my Fable book club. I started the club in January 2024, and we’ve been reading one fantasy book a month together ever since.

It’s a low-pressure club, designed for all of us who sometimes get swept up by life (that’s definitely me!) and might not always finish on time. Here, there’s no stress- just a relaxed pace, good books, and a shared love of exploring new worlds.

Whether you’re looking for your next favourite story or a community of readers who truly get it, you’re in the right place.

Joining is completely free, Fable is a brilliant app that also serves as a type of social media for book lovers, there are tonnes of different clubs and lots of great app features to explore (I’m not affiliated, just really love the app!).

FAQ

Joining is easy and free. Simply click the link above to head over to our club on Fable. You’ll just need to create a free Fable account if you don’t already have one – then you’re ready to start reading with us.

We focus mainly on fantasy, cosy fantasy, and books with strong, memorable storytelling. Expect magical adventures, character-driven stories, and the occasional gentle crossover into fantasy romance or mythology retellings.

Not at all! Life gets busy. You’re welcome to dip in and out as it suits you. Some members read every book, some join only for the ones that catch their eye – it’s completely up to you.

We usually aim to finish the book by the end of each month, but there’s no strict timeline. You can read at your own pace and jump into discussions whenever you’re ready. You can even go back and see what we’ve read before and comment on previous discussion boards.

All discussions happen inside our Fable group. Our current book will be broken down by chapters inside the club chat room, meaning you can chat about each chapter as you go along without fear of being spoiled. You can then add your rating and thoughts on the book at the end. It’s very relaxed – you can post once, join in every week, or simply read along quietly if you prefer.
